Faith Ward is all about her voluminous ponytail — and Wingstop.
The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, 22, exclusively opened up to Us Weekly about her necessities when it comes to game day: a bold lip, lashes, and of course, one of her favorite eateries.
“I’m so excited about this partnership,” she gushed to Us about teaming up with Wingstop, revealing that she “naturally filmed a review without it even being a collaboration.”
Ward explained that Wingstop’s PR team then reached out to her, as their headquarters are in Dallas, Texas, and expressed interest in working together. “I was like, ‘This is a pinch me moment,’ she gushed to Us. “It’s insane.”
Why Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader Faith Ward Is the Only 1 Allowed to Wear a Ponytail: ‘Tea’
Ward is currently in her rookie season of DCC and made headlines for standing out with her voluminous ponytail, while her other team members rock bombshell blowouts.
“There is a bit of controversy, of course,” she admitted. “Everyone’s like, ‘Why is there a ponytail?’” Ward then pointed out that squad members have been sporting different hairstyles since the 1960s. “It’s not just me. I feel very honored to be up there with some other very inspiring women who have had different hairstyles over the years as well,” she said.
Ward added, “I do read a lot of people’s opinions, but I just remind myself that at the end of the day, I like wearing it, and I think it looks good. And so do Kelli [Finglass] and Judy [Trammell].” While she was “shocked” at how much of an “impact” her ponytail had, Ward shared that she’s more than fine with being the “topic of conversation.”
Ward reminisced on getting the seal of approval about rocking her iconic ponytail on the field. “Kelli looked at me and said, ‘Oh, I think I prefer your hair up,’” she explained. “I got so excited. I was like, ‘Yes, this is like a moment for difference, a moment for me to express myself.’”
The dancer shared that since her hair is “naturally fine and thin,” she adds extensions to her updo. “We’ve finally nailed it with a million and one hair ties, bobby pins, hair spray [and] hair gel,” she joked. “I’m not gonna lie, at the end of a game day, you have a bit of a headache.”
Ward complemented her “Ariana Grande” inspired look with lots of highlighter on her cheeks.
“I love looking glowy, especially because my hair is up. I feel like I’ve got a serve face card,” Ward added. “Highlighter, lashes and a bold lip is for sure my staple.”
DCC Rookie Faith Ward’s Teammates Enthusiastically Approve of Her Game-Day Ponytail
When a game is over and her tight ponytail is out, Ward loves relaxing with a comfort meal from Wingstop. “I go for the Hot Honey Rub, or the Hickory Smoked Barbecue,” she told Us. “Seriously, the best. It’s like a mix of like sweet with like heat flavors, the dry rub, the sauces, everything about it, but you’ve got to drown it in ranch. That is what makes it chef’s kiss.”
The cheerleader also shared that sometimes she’ll fuel her body with Wingstop before games. “I want to pre-carb load, because I’m gonna be burning so much,” she explained. “I feel like it’s efficient to fuel my body with what it’s needing — protein, nutrients, everything you can get in one and that’s Wingstop.”
