New England Patriots fans chanted “MVP” for quarterback Drake Maye after his 28-yard dash in the third quarter of the team’s 32-13 win against the Cleveland Browns.
Not only are New England fans hoping Maye will snag the NFL MVP, but wide receiver Kayshon Boutte also showed his support for Maye.
“We all see it,” Boutte said on Sunday, via Patriots on CLNS. “I think if you look around the league, they’re doing great stuff too. But I mean, I think Drake is doing everything they’re doing. There’s nothing that he’s not doing.”
Maye threw for 282 yards on Sunday, connecting for three touchdowns while also throwing one interception. With this performance, he has brought his season total to 2,026 passing yards, along with 15 touchdowns and just three interceptions.
The 23-year-old quarterback was fully focused and couldn’t hear the “MVP” chants coming from the crowd.

“No, I didn’t hear it,” Maye said on Sunday. “The guys were making fun of me about my slide back in the huddle on the long run, so I didn’t hear it. But the fans have been awesome all season. It’s been really cool really to see the difference from last year to this year. Man, it’s been a journey.”
As of Sunday, FanDuel gives Maye the third-shortest odds for the MVP at +450, with only Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen ahead of him.
