The attention of the football world in Week 8’s edition of Sunday Night Football will be on former Green Bay Packers franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Now with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Rodgers will look to beat the team he will be forever associated with the most.
At 41 years old, the four-time NFL Most Valuable Player is playing great football for someone his age. He has 1,270 passing yards and 14 touchdowns with five interceptions, so far in the 2025 NFL season. In Week 7, Rodgers went 23-of-34 for 249 passing yards and four touchdowns with two picks thrown in a 33-31 Thursday Night Football loss at the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals.
On Sunday, the 10-time Pro Bowler will be the latest quarterback to test the new-look Packers’ defense that now features Micah Parsons, who just had three sacks in Green Bay’s 27-23 win in Week 7 against the Arizona Cardinals.
Packers’ Parsons admits why Rodgers still gives defenders headaches

Coming off a spectacular performance, Parsons is looking to sustain his form and make Rodgers feel his presence. Many have tried before, and a lot of them failed in containing Rodgers, but Parsons is also one of the greatest defensive players of his generation — if not of all time.
The former Penn State Nittany Lions star knows that bottling up Rodgers is a big challenge, even though the quarterback is already in the twilight of his playing career.
Via Ryan Wood of USA TODAY:
Asked Micah Parsons what’s the biggest concern defending Aaron Rodgers:
“I would say don’t let Rodgers get to his spot. When he’s in sync, it’s like poetry. Every throw is on the money, everything has in sync. You have to find ways to disrupt the tendencies, disrupt the spot.”
It also starts with figuring out Rodgers’ pass protection, which has tightened up of late. Rodgers has not been sacked in the last two Pittsburgh games after getting taken down to the ground nine times in the previous four Steelers outings.
