Maggie’s story is one of unimaginable hardship and extraordinary resilience. This 5-year-old dog survived horrific abuse in Lebanon, where she was found chained to a crate with her ear cut off, her mouth broken, and 17 shotgun wounds across her body.
Blind and pregnant, Maggie endured more suffering than most could fathom. Yet, despite it all, she has emerged as a symbol of hope, strength, and unconditional love.
Maggie’s path to recovery began when a compassionate individual in Lebanon shared her plight on social media. A woman in London saw the post and immediately contacted the Wild At Heart Foundation, an organization dedicated to rescuing dogs in need. Thanks to their efforts, Maggie was saved and underwent a series of surgeries and treatments to address her injuries.
After her recovery, Maggie was flown to Brighton, England, where she found her forever home with Casey Carlin, a 25-year-old animal lover.
Maggie quickly became a cherished member of Casey’s family, joining her other dog, Mishka. But Maggie’s impact extended far beyond her new home.
