TRADE WINDS IN TEXAS: A bold Cowboys-Dolphins trade proposal is making waves, potentially sending a blazing-fast young star to Dallas, and insiders say this move could inject instant electricity into the offense and change the NFC picture overnight… ll

Cowboys-Dolphins Trade Pitch Sends Speedy Youngster to Dallas

With another very discouraging loss in Week 7, losing 31-6 to the below-average Cleveland Browns, the Miami Dolphins have some questions to answer entering the trade deadline ahead of Nov. 4. If one thing is for certain, it seems like the Dolphins have to be sellers, at least moving on from some players.

That doesn’t mean the Dolphins will go out and move everyone they can, but if a player isn’t getting many reps for the Dolphins at the moment or doesn’t fit in what they’re trying to do in the long term, there’s not much of a reason for them to continue to be on the roster.

Unfortunately, that might be the case for young running back Jaylen Wright. The Dolphins drafted Wright in the fourth round last year, hoping he’d be a decent backup running back. Instead, he seems to be losing any touches he might’ve had, making him a prime candidate to be moved.

When proposing potential ideas, Sports Illustrated’s Randy Gurzi pitched the idea of sending Wright to the Dallas Cowboys.

“Jaydon Blue has yet to make his mark in the NFL, but with Miles Sanders out, he’s the team’s No. 2 running back. Dallas needs to add depth at the position, and Jaylen Wright could be available.

“Wright has fallen out of favor in Miami, but was successful back in the SEC for Tennessee. He would provide some competition for Blue, and could fill in as RB2 if the rookie doesn’t get things rolling,” he wrote .

Could the Cowboys Land Jaylen Wright?

The Dallas Cowboys are in a much better position than the Miami Dolphins, who now sit at 1-6.

The Cowboys are 3-3-1 and look primed to make the postseason, depending on how they play for the remainder of the year. They had an impressive win against the Washington Commanders in Week 7, which certainly helped their case.

Regarding the Dolphins and what they plan to do at the trade deadline, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald had great insight into what could happen over the next few weeks.

“But if the Dolphins (1-6) continue to lose, they could relocate a few players — more likely on defense than offense — before the NFL’s Nov. 4 trade deadline. Miami has two games before the deadline: at Atlanta on Sunday and Oct. 30 against Baltimore…

“Agent Drew Rosenhaus, during his weekly Sunday night insider segment on Fox 7, noted that owner Stephen Ross, president Tom Garfinkel and Ross’ son-in-law, experienced sports executive Dan Sillman, “will be very involved in deciding” the team’s trade deadline approach,” he wrote .

Should the Cowboys Improve Their Running Game?

Regarding the Dallas Cowboys’ running back room, it’s likely the one area the team can improve on.

Javonte Williams is decent and proved that against the Washington Commanders with 116 yards on 19 attempts. He also has 592 yards on 111 attempts this year, including six touchdowns, so there’s certainly something to be said about how he’s played.

However, others believe the Cowboys need a running back, at least as a backup.

Jerry Jones isn’t one of them, however.

“I think we have one of the best running backs in the NFL,” Jones said , per the Fort Worth Star. “And the way he was running earlier in the game was important to us to get the momentum we got going in this game, and so I feel good.”
