The San Francisco 49ers may have defeated the Atlanta Falcons 20-10 on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium, but head coach Kyle Shanahan had more unfortunate injury updates for his team on Monday.
Shanahan addressed quarterback Brock Purdy’s toe injury and stated that he will continue to work like he did last week but he may not return to the field for the team’s Week 8 matchup with the Houston Texans.

If that’s the case, San Francisco will continue to ride with Mac Jones, who has brought them to a 4-1 record in his five starts.
Shanahan also shared the center Jake Brendel and linebacker Bryce Huff are both out a couple weeks due to hamstring injuries.
Brendel was replaced by Matt Hennessy in the middle of Sunday’s game, and the offensive line didn’t seem to miss a beat, so Hennessy will probably take over as the starter going forward.
For Huff, San Francisco will need to find someone else to rely on. They’re already missing Nick Bosa, who is out for the year with a torn ACL, and Yetur Gross-Matos, who was out in Week 7 with an injury. Sam Okuayinonu, Mykel Williams and Trevis Gipson are really the only edge rushers left on the active roster.

The 49ers may have to consider bringing Robert Beal or Williams Bradley-King up from the practice squad, or they could sign a free agent.
49ers cornerback Renardo Green is also considered day-to-day with a toe injury that he suffered on Sunday. However, Shanahan clarified he’s not dealing with turf toe.
