REPORT: Fans worry after Dak Prescott’s postgame appearance — does his look signal a potential injury that could affect the Cowboys’ season?

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Sparks Injury Concerns With Postgame Look

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a hand injury against the Commanders.

After dismantling the Washington Commanders, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott arrived at his postgame press conference wearing an accessory that quickly drew attention and sparked concerns about a possible injury.

Prescott was nearly flawless in the Cowboys’ blowout victory, completing 21 of 30 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns. His numbers could have been even bigger, but Dallas hit cruise control in the second half with a hefty lead.

After the game, Prescott appeared at the podium with a bandage on his left hand — a sight that sparked some concern. He quickly downplayed any notion that it would impact him moving forward. Prescott called it a “Britt special,” referencing long-time Cowboys trainer Britt Brown.

“A little Britt special just to take the swelling down,” said Prescott, who played every snap in the 44-22 win. “I usually throw my left hand to cover the ball when I get hit. It usually takes a lot of helmets, so I’m sure it was just a facemask. Nothing unusual, honestly.”

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Bolsters MVP Case

Prescott has firmly inserted himself into the MVP conversation, and his latest outing only strengthened that case. Through seven games, he’s thrown for 1,881 yards, 16 touchdowns, and just three interceptions — elite efficiency from the Cowboys signal-caller, who leads the league in QBR.

More importantly, Dallas snapped back into the win column on Sunday, handling a division rival in convincing fashion. With a healthy CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens helping the offense find its rhythm, Prescott believes the best is yet to come.

“It was great. It was explosive, it was fun. You saw the big plays and the drives we put together. The standard and expectation for us is high,” Prescott said. “I think more of our games are going to look like this.”

The Cowboys moved to 3-3-1 with the win against the Commanders.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Praises Pass-Catchers

Prescott said that having both Lamb and Pickens at his disposal makes him confident in just about any pass he throws their way. Lamb had five catches for 110 yards and a touchdown in his first game back after sitting out three games with an ankle injury. Pickens snagged four catches for 82 yards.

“Those are two dudes, and the other guys are well. Wherever the ball goes, I’m confident that when it leaves my hand, a play is going to be made if that guy has a chance,” Prescott said. “When those two guys get it, it can be very explosive.”

Prescott has put together a standout season, but what he’s most proud of is his improved ball security. Even with an emphasis on cutting down interceptions, he’s stayed aggressive and confident pushing the ball downfield.

“Just trying to be smart with it. But not hesitant, scared, or cautious” Prescott said. “I’m taking my chances and have tons of confidence in what I can do and where I can put it.”

Prescott and the Cowboys have a chance to keep the momentum rolling when they head to Denver next week to see the Broncos. Dallas will host the Arizona Cardinals in Week 9 before heading into their bye week.
