Packers rule out WR Christian Watson, list RB Josh Jacobs as questionable for Week 7

The Green Bay Packers ruled out wide receiver Christian Watson for Week 7, delaying his return from the PUP list for at least another week, and the team also listed running back Josh Jacobs as questionable to play against the Arizona Cardinals due to an illness and a new calf injury.

Watson joined defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt (knee) and defensive end Lukas Van Ness (foot) as the three players ruled out by the Packers for Week 7. Watson just got through a second week of practice since being designated for return from the PUP list, but the Packers are giving him another week of ramping up until he’s activated and given the green light to play. Watson tore his ACL in January and missed all of training camp.

Wyatt and Van Ness did not practice this week after suffering injuries in recent games, so the defensive front will be missing two important pieces against the Cardinals.

One of the new injuries is to Jacobs, who had a calf injury added on Friday but was listed as a full participant at practice. He is questionable. So is cornerback Nate Hobbs, who added a new knee injury on Friday. Hobbs previously injured his knee during training camp and missed Week 1. The Packers listed seven total players as questionable, including Jacobs and Hobbs and starting right tackle Zach Tom, who is still fighting through injuries to his oblique and back. Kicker Brandon McManus, who did not kick during practice this week, is also questionable. The Packers listed McManus as questionable last week but he did not play, leaving backup Lucas Havrisik to handle the kicking duties.

Receiver Dontayvion Wicks, who injured his ankle last week, and right tackle Anthony Belton, who is attempting to return from an ankle injury suffered last month, are also questionable to play.

The Cardinals, meanwhile, cleared receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. from concussion protocol, meaning he’ll play Sunday, and listed quarterback Kyler Murray (foot) as questionable to play.

The inactive list will be an important one to monitor on Sunday. The Packers and Cardinals will announce gameday inactives 90 minutes before kickoff, or at roughly 1:55 p.m. CT.
