The Dallas Cowboys are getting CeeDee Lamb back in the lineup after the star receiver missed basically the past four games after he injured his ankle early in the first quarter against the Chicago Bears in Week 3.
Lamb has been a limited participant in practice this week but his return has been in the works.
“I’m out there moving around, running around, being me. Happy as can be,” said Lamb, who added that he felt ready last week when the Cowboys lost to the Carolina Panthers, but the team wanted a little more time for him to be healthy.
Now, Lamb is comfortable moving in any direction and running any route.
“I feel like that’s why we took an extra week off, just to make sure that I had that comfort, just to make sure that I had that same explosiveness, just to make sure that I had that same stability,” he said.
In two games, Lamb caught 16 passes for 222 yards, matching his career-best yards per reception at 13.9.
In Lamb’s absence, George Pickens has excelled with a pair of 100-yard receiving games while scoring touchdowns in five consecutive games. Pickens, acquired in a trade before the season, has 32 receptions for 525 yards (16.4 ypc) and six touchdowns.
The Cowboys lead the NFL in total offense with 387.5 yards per game. They are second in the NFL in passing offense with 270.3 yards per game and third in points scored at 29.7 per game.
The Cowboys are 2-3-1 and sit behind the Commanders (3-3) and Philadelphia Eagles (4-2) in the NFC East in Brian Schottenheimer’s first season as head coach.
