🚨STEEL CITY STUNNER: George Pickens just etched his name alongside Hall of Fame legends, the numbers don’t lie and the league’s starting to realize this kid might be that guy..ll

He's not as crazy' - CeeDee Lamb puts some pressure on the Cowboys regarding George Pickens' future and proves his leadership - A to Z Sports

With a half-dozen weeks in the books there is one thing for certain in the NFL, parity. No team has experienced more parity than the Dallas Cowboys who are 2-3-1 this season and have showcased one of the league’s top offenses, but one of the league’s worst defenses.

This week, they’ll face another team that has faced their fair share of parity in the Washington Commanders (3-3).

Washington is led by former Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and is coming off a 2024 season that ended in the NFC Championship game. Now, both teams will try and take a huge step forward in an NFC East battle at AT&T Stadium in Week 7.

Here are 8 more notable ‘big facts’ to remember ahead of Sunday’s 3:25pm CT kickoff on FOX.

Not the Right Side of History

Through their first six games, the Cowboys have scored 178 points but have won just twice. They are the sixth team in NFL history to score over 175 points and win two or fewer games over a six-game span to start the season. Of the previous five, only one team made the playoffs. The 1961 Houston Oilers, who finished 10-3-1 and won the AFC title that season. The last three teams (1985 Bengals, 2012 Saints, and 2016 Saints) all went on to finish 7-9 and miss the playoffs.

Pickens Joins Two Hall of Famers and Former Cowboy

On the 2025 season, George Pickens has 525 receiving yards and six touchdowns, becoming one of five players in the last 30 seasons with 500 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns in his first six games with a new franchise. Only Randy Moss (twice), Terrell Owens (2004), and Amari Cooper (2018) achieved the feat previously.

Four for Ferguson

Jake Ferguson became just the fourth tight end in NFL history to record 40-receptions and at least four receiving touchdowns in their team’s first six games of the season. He joins Travis Kelce (2022), Tony Gonzalez (2012), and Ben Coates (1994) as the only players to do so.

Doomsday for the Defense

Dallas has allowed 30.7 points per game and rank in the bottom five of most major categories this season. The only Cowboys defense to allow more was the inaugural team in 1960, which finished winless with a record of 0-11-1. They have allowed 30-or-more points in four of their last five games, tied for the most in the NFL.

Double the Interceptions for Dono

Donovan Wilson is the only player on the Cowboys defense with an interception this season, and he secured his second against the Panthers in Week 6. Wilson is the first Cowboys safety with multiple picks in the first six games of a season since Barry Church in 2016.

Clutch No More?

After being 8-4 in one-score games throughout the 2024 season, the Washington Commanders have dropped to 0-2 in such games with their defeat against the Chicago Bears on Monday. For comparison purposes, Washington was 2-0 last season before falling in a one-score fame for the first time in Week 6 against Baltimore.

Good vs. Good

Dak Prescott has an 82.0 passer rating when under pressure this season, down from a 113.7 rating without pressure. Washington’s defense has a 40.6 quarterback pressure percentage which ranks 4th in the NFL.

Potential for Prescott

Prescott has tallied three straight games with at least three passing touchdowns and zero interceptions entering Week 7. This ties the longest streak in Cowboys franchise history with himself (2021) and Tony Romo (2014). He has thrown at least four touchdowns in each of his last two games against Washington, both before Dan Quinn was named head coach last season.
