⚾ 🚨 BREAKING REPORT: YANKEES EYE $6.5 MILLION ALL-STAR LEFTY — SUCCESSOR TO FRIED AND RODON REVEALED!

The New York Yankees have one of the best rosters in the league star power-wise, but they do face one problem: age. They are one of the oldest teams in the league, and they only have a couple of young stars who are actually producing.

They have their righty ace of the future in Cam Schlittler, but they need a lefty to go with him. Their current lefties are Max Fried and Carlos Rodon, but both are already in their 30s. Fansided’s Christopher Kline believes the solution is going out and making a blockbuster trade for Washington Nationals ace, Mackenzie Gore. The trade would look like this:

New York Yankees receive: LHP Mackenzie Gore

Washington Nationals receive: RHP Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz, OF Dillon Lewis, RHP Ben Hess

“Gore offers four solid pitches, specializing in a zippy mid-90s fastball and a droppy low-80s curve that can keep hitters guessing. When he’s locked in, Gore looks like an ace in the making. Few teams develop pitchers better than New York, and the Yankees have the necessary capital to extend or re-sign Gore when the time comes,” Kline wrote.

This season, Gore posted a 4.17 ERA and a WHIP of 1.353, but he also got 185 strikeouts over 159 innings pitched. He also made his first All-Star game this season, so he definitely has the potential to be great.

Hopefully, the Yankees realize what a good trade this would be, as Schlittler and Gore could become the successors to Gerrit Cole, Fried, and Rodon.
