Fourth-round guard Layden Robinson has been released from New England’s injured reserve after landing there in August.
That leaves just three players from the 2024 class: Drake Maye, Caedan Wallace, and Marcellas Dial, who is still on injured reserve.Outside of Maye, who has been outstanding, the rest of the class looks like a whiff from the Patriots front office, many of whom are still in place despite a regime change under Mike Vrabel.
As a rookie, Robinson appeared in 13 games for the Patriots, starting 11 and playing both guard spots.
However, the Texas A&M product struggled in pass protection at times, fell down the depth chart with a new coaching staff this summer, and wound up injured in August. Now, he’ll get a fresh start elsewhere.
