Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are back in the win column following Sunday’s 30-17 victory over the Detroit Lions. The win moves the Chiefs to 3-3, but the team’s decent start, highlighted by All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce, has been overshadowed by his fiancée’s success in her field.
While Kelce is off to a solid start to the year — he has 28 catches for a team-high 321 yards and two touchdowns — his fiancée and 14-time Grammy winner, Taylor Swift, has turned the music world on its head with her latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
Swift’s 12th studio album was released on Oct. 3 and, as expected, has taken the music world by storm. As reported by Billboard, Swift’s album debuted with over 4 million copies sold when accounting for prerelease sales and downloads.
It’s an achievement that she credited to her fans, taking to Instagram to write, “I have 4 million thank you’s I want to send to the fans, and 4 million reasons to feel even more proud of this album than I already was.”
Joining the millions of supporters to give her praise was Brittany Mahomes, the wife of the Chiefs’ two-time NFL MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
“So incredible,” wrote Brittany Mahomes on Instagram.

According to Keith Caulfield of Billboard, Swift’s album has already ascended to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 and helped her make some history along the way.
“Taylor Swift achieves her 15th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 albums chart (dated Oct. 18) in record-breaking fashion with the debut of ‘The Life of a Showgirl,’” wrote Caulfield. “Swift breaks out of a tie with Drake and JAY-Z for the most No. 1 albums among soloists … .”
Swift is, however, second in terms of the most No. 1 albums in general, as The Beatles had 19 albums hit No. 1.
With Swift and Kelce planning for a wedding, it’s unknown when she will be back in the studio to record more albums, but needless to say, the demand is still very much there.
