The Green Bay Packers and Cincinnati Bengals are uncommon opponents from different conferences, making matchups relatively rare between the two teams. The Packers and Bengals will meet again on Sunday at Lambeau Field for just the sixth time since the turn of the century and just the 15th time overall.
The history between the Packers and Bengals is a wild one, featuring overtime thrillers, close and crushing losses and the beginning of the Brett Favre era in Green Bay.

What could be in store Sunday when Joe Flacco — who faced the Packers earlier this season but was traded to the Bengals on Tuesday — starts for Cincinnati at Lambeau Field?
A quick look back at the recent games in the Packers-Bengals series:
2021: Packers 25, Bengals 22 (OT)
A back-and-forth thriller ended in a barrage of missed field goals. Mason Crosby missed two field goals in regulation — a 36-yarder with 2:14 left and a 51-yarder as time expired — and then missed another to open overtime after the Packers intercepted Joe Burrow. Incredibly, Evan McPherson (who is still the Bengals kicker) missed from 57 yards in regulation and 49 yards in overtime. The Packers escaped when Crosby was good from 49 yards out with two minutes left in the extra session. Davante Adams caught 11 passes for 206 yards.

2017: Packers 27, Bengals 24 (OT)
The Packers overcame a 14-point deficit in the first half and tied the game at 24 with a late touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers to Jordy Nelson, sending the game into overtime. After a defensive stop to open overtime, Rodgers hit Geronimo Allison for 72 yards on 3rd-and-10, and Mason Crosby connected on a 27-yard field goal to send the Packers to 2-1 and the Bengals to 0-3.
2013: Bengals 34, Packers 30
The Packers led 30-14 with 20 minutes left, but the Bengals scored 20 straight points and stunned the visiting Packers. The go-ahead score came on a 58-yard fumble return with under four minutes to go and the Packers attempting to convert a 4th-and-1. Rookie Jonathan Franklin rushed for 103 yards but had the critical fumble late. The game ended on a turnover on downs on 4th-and-5 with the Packers at the 20-yard line, dropping Green Bay to 1-2 to start the 2013 season.

2009: Bengals 31, Packers 24
Another game that got away. The Packers (favored by 7.5 points) led 14-7 and 21-14 in the first half, but the Bengals dominated the second half. Cedric Benson rushed for 141 yards, Chad Johnson caught a touchdown pass and Antwan Odom produced five sacks of Aaron Rodgers. After scoring back-to-back touchdowns in the first quarter, the Packers offense had five punts, a turnover and a missed field goal. The game ended on a false start penalty with the Packers at the 10-yard line and threatening a tying score.
2005: Bengals 21, Packers 14
A miserable game from a miserable season. Brett Favre threw five interceptions, including a stretch where he threw an interception on four straight possessions. The Packers had a chance to tie late but Favre was sacked with under 20 seconds to go and the final play ended in a penalty. The most memorable moment was a fan coming onto the field and stealing the ball from Favre on a dead play late in the fourth quarter. Green Bay fell to 1-6 and ended the season at 4-12, and Favre led the NFL in interceptions with 29.

1992: The Favre era begins
