Their defense has been outstanding following the stunning trade for superstar edge rusher Micah Parsons. His arrival has freed up defensive end Rashan Gary to post 4.5 sacks and four tackles for loss through four games.
Offensively, Green Bay has some things to sort out. But it has gotten excellent play from quarterback Jordan Love, who is in his third season as its starter and has completed 69.4% of his pass attempts and thrown for 1,000 yards, eight touchdowns and one interception so far this year.
In a question-and-answer article, Wes Hodkiewicz of Packers.com made it clear that Love is quickly ascending the ladder of NFL quarterbacks.
“Jordan Love is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and not enough people are saying it, particularly in the fanbase,” Hodkiewicz wrote. “If the statistics aren’t good enough for you, consider how Love has played in each of the first four games.
“… Love is commanding the offense, seeing the field well, executing big throws at a high clip and using his legs again. Believe in Love or don’t believe in him. I’m tired of having to tell some of you what your eyes should be seeing. But know this…that locker room believes in him. Outside of one interception and holding on to the ball too long at the end of the first half Sunday, Love has played near-flawless football at a position where it’s crystal clear if you’re not up to the task. He is. This football team is in good hands.”

When Green Bay took Love with the No. 26 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, it was clear that he was being groomed to eventually supplant Aaron Rodgers under center. There were initially questions about whether he was up to the task of carrying the torch for the storied franchise, but those concerns are quickly disappearing.
The franchise has been extremely lucky for the last three decades to have the smooth succession it has enjoyed at the QB spot. Hall of Famer Brett Favre arrived in 1992 when the team had been dormant for many years, and he quickly made it a contender while bringing it its first Super Bowl championship in 29 years during the 1996 season.
When Favre unretired in 2008 and was told he would have to beat out Rodgers for the QB1 spot, he asked out and was traded to the New York Jets. Rodgers took over and led the Packers to another world championship just two seasons later.

There is still a way to go for Love in terms of proving he’s truly an elite quarterback, but thus far, he has done a fantastic job of representing one of the NFL’s most iconic organizations.
