Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs has a “big fan” in David Bakhtiari.
The former Packers left tackle took to social media to offer high praise for the fourth-year wide receiver after his three-touchdown performance in Green Bay’s 40-40 tie Sept. 28 against the Dallas Cowboys.

But his comments weren’t just about what he saw on the field. Bakhtiari, who played two seasons with Doubs, in 2022 and 2023, wanted to talk about Doubs, the person.
“Romeo Doubs success is the fact that he is a Pros Pro,” Bakhtiari wrote on X Sept. 29. “Very detailed and reliable with steady improvement. The best part is the kind of man he is off the field. Genuine and heartfelt.”
“I’m a big fan of Rome’s game as a player, and character as a person.”
As a player, Doubs balled out before a prime-time audience on “Sunday Night Football.”
He caught the Packers’ first two touchdowns of the game in helping them get out to an early 13-0 lead. He then had a late go-ahead touchdown in regulation, a 15-yard catch on third-and-10, that gave the Packers a 34-30 lead with under two minutes left. On that drive, his 18-yard catch and run on third-and-8 with the Packers at their own 22-yard line was huge.

It was Doubs’ first three-touchdown game of his career. And with four TDs this season, he’s already tied his season total from 2024 and is well on pace to set a career best.
The typically reserved Doubs appears rejuvenated in 2025 — he’s showing much more emotion after catches and TDs.
It follows a rough season in which he missed four games — two after suffering the first of two concussions last season and another for a team-imposed suspension in October.

He’ll be an unrestricted free agent after the 2025 season. Doubs has made $6.6 million in his career, counting signing bonuses.
Why is Romeo Doubs wearing a helmet cover?
As Doubs plays in 2025, he’s doing so while wearing a Guardian Cap over his helmet. The Guardian Cap is an extra layer to his helmet after he suffered two concussions in 2024.
Guardian Caps are a soft-shell cover that acts as a buffer in an attempt to reduce head injuries.
Doubs began wearing it upon returning to the field in December 2024 following his first concussion three weeks earlier. His second concussion occurred in the team’s divisional playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles in January.

Guardian Caps are required for most NFL players during training camp practices but they’re optional for games.
