The Kansas City Chiefs receiving corps remains a problem for the offense. The main issue with the Chiefs wide receiver woes is injuries to the position since two of their top receivers are either out for the regular season (Hollywood Brown) or the rest of the season (Rashee Rice). For them to make a deep playoff run, one of their wideouts, possibly DeAndre Hopkins, must step up and take over as Patrick Mahomes’ leading receiver.
Following the Chiefs’ loss to the Bills, they signed a young speedster to the practice squad.
The Kansas City Chiefs added a former second-round pick to the practice squad
As previously discussed by Jordan Sigler of Gridiron Heroics, the Chiefs signed Tyquan Thornton, a tall, undersized, and blazing-fast wide receiver, to the practice squad on Monday. Thornton, a former second-round pick by the New England Patriots from the 2022 NFL Draft, spent the first 2.5 seasons in New England but battled injuries in his first two seasons and ultimately fell out of the rotation in Year 3. The Patriots failed to trade him during the NFL Trade Deadline and wound up waiving him on Saturday.
